Famous offices on-screen

With Christmas coming, most of us will (hopefully) spend time at home relaxing and watching films with family and friends.

You may never have thought about it before, but this year, keep your eye out to see how many films are shot in offices… you’ll be surprised! Here are some famous offices featured in films and TV series, along with inspiration on how to achieve the same style and look with the help of Vale Office Interiors.

American Psycho

The feel of the boardroom and office space featured in the American Psycho film is oversized, sleek and luxurious. Choose furniture in darker colours to help recreate the male-driven and minimalist look – no need for much else. Keep it clean and create a statement with the:

The Devil Wears Prada

The offices in The Devil Wears Prada are light, clean and modern. Think glass, monochrome and feminine touches, along with lots of storage space and cupboards for magazine back-issues and fantastic fashion pieces. Stick to the below picks in a colour palette of white and silver with the odd bit of black, and your office will never go out of style.

Mad Men

Retro, eclectic and stylish, with lots of wood, splashes of modern furniture and bold fabric choices. Individual offices and time spent in the boardroom and shared areas, coming up with new creative, plus extravagant art on the walls, along with the odd family photo. Oh, and a drinks trolley in every room, but we won’t go in to that.

You can’t go wrong with the items we’ve picked below to start your Mad Men office off:

Top tip: add a few statement potted plants, such as a cheese plant, to complete the look and to add life to your office.

Wolf of Wall Street

This is an open plan office with a lot of people (and desks), so think practical, space-savvy with lots of storage and desk drawers. Stick to pale woods and practical chairs to create the look. They get through a lot of paperwork in the Wolf of Wall Street film, so add stationery, filing systems, maybe even a shredder or paper recycling area too. We recommend:

Anchorman

The workspace in the film Anchorman is quite traditional and not too fancy. This busy office has wall boards to attach important information, a variety of chairs and office screens for privacy. The office screens we’ve picked for this look also double up as an extra pinnable wall surface:

The IT Crowd

The office in the TV series The IT Crowd is a bit of a mish-mash. It’s not sleek and professional looking but it’s functional and serves a purpose. This is perfect if you’re a new/small company or if there isn’t a need to host client meetings. Think shelves, storage, sofas and stickers:

We hope you feel inspired and if you haven’t already, we’d recommend watching all of the above films and TV series this Christmas.

With this said, you may start thinking about a few additional pieces of office furniture or even feel like you want to create a whole new look for 2018.
